About Alan Nimmo
Born on January 20, 1977 in Glasgow, Alan Nimmo grew up in a musical family inspired by his older brother Stevie and their mother's love of Peter Green and Free. He started playing guitar at 12, with his debut performance at a school assembly playing Jimi Hendrix. In 1995 he and Stevie formed The Nimmo Brothers, gaining recognition across the UK blues scene. Alan founded King King in 2007 and the band became one of the UK's most electrifying live acts, winning Best British Blues Band three years running (2012–2014) and Best Album at the British Blues Awards for Take My Hand. Known for his powerhouse vocals, passionate guitar work and a habit of performing in a kilt, Alan is one of Scotland's most celebrated rock and blues musicians.
